YOUR STORY: Julian Wilson for Young Australian of the Year

LET'S start a campaign to get Julian Wilson his bravery award and to win Young Australian of the Year for 2016.

He has shown how young people who stay focused, maintain fitness, health, keep motivated and learn a skill can reach the top of their game and compete on a level basis with peers much older.

He has also shown true bravery and mateship in the face of danger, yet remained humble.

It's not just about his bravery but also his mateship he showed during the shark attack.

He is a role model for other young people being on top of his profession.

He epitomises what it means to be a Young Australian.

So thankful to be able to have this hug with @julian_wilson this man came to my aid like a warrior!! It was by far the scariest thing I have ever been through and am still rattled. In our sport we always think about sharks and know we are in their domain. Many thanks to all the people that have reached out and sent their wishes. Jbay is an incredible place and I will go back one day. Thanks to the @wsl announcers and water patrol for being on top of us and the care they showed us and to all my friends on tour that were by my side. Love you all.
