YOUR STORY: Hospital staff thanked for top notch job

On Wednesday August 19 at around 6.15pm, our daughter Annika was coming out of her room but then turned sharply to go back in and fell over on the tiles directly onto her left elbow.

Lots of tears later, which is unusual for her, and we decided to head up to Hervey Bay's Emergency Department  to have it checked out.

When we arrived we were greeted in triage at change of shift.

After a very efficient assessment we headed over to administration for some more details.

After a short wait we were called into Xray and the lady in there was very friendly and made Annika feel relaxed.

We headed back to the waiting room until we were called in by Dr Thevandiran Kanavathy.

He was very thorough and had a lovely demeanour and made Annika feel at ease.

We were then seen by the "Boss" and she was also efficient and friendly.

It was decided Annika  needed to have a cast and we were shown to the plaster room.

Again we did not have to wait long before Scott came in to attend to Annika - wow what a whiz with the plaster.

He has obviously done this a few times and was very kind and there was quite a bit of laughter coming from the plaster room.

All in all our experience at the hospital was a very positive one and all the staff are to be commended on their professionalism, manner and approach.

Thank you for all that you do under trying circumstances.

It does not go unnoticed.

Many thanks,

Jodie Lynch
