YESTERDAY'S Photo of the Day poll might have been the tightest since we began this series nearly a year ago with three images tied in first place.

We had a brilliant selection of images in yesterday's poll and it really showed in the voting.

This image of Boulder Beach by Sera Wright, an adorable picture of a dog on the Spit at Ballina's Missingham Bridge, by Julie Saxon, and a terrific image of sunset colours shining off rocks at Ballina's North Creek, by Wendy Gilmore, all tied on 17% of the vote each.

And if you thought that made yesterday's poll a three-horse race you'd be wrong.

Images of sunrise from Mt Warning, by Len Hegarty, and magpies lined up on fence posts at Lennox Head, by Brian Boyle, tied for runner-up with 12% each, with the third and fourth-place getters not far behind on 10% and 7% respectively.
