YOUR STORY: Strong home Capras crowd could make difference

A LOT of rugby league fans have been knocking the Comets/Capras for many years, myself being one of the main offenders.

We blame the players, coach, committee and even the orange peelers, but never ourselves, the so-called supporters.

We all sit at home watching the NRL games, cheering on our favourite team and not giving a thought about the Capras who are on the field playing for Central Queensland.

We then read in TMB about another loss and without seeing a single game we rubbish the whole Capras' system without knowing what is going on behind the scenes.

Anyone who has played rugby league knows that there is no better feeling than running on to the field with a big crowd behind you, also how low you feel when you look and see so many empty seats.

The old saying is that if you win games the crowds will come. This Capras' team is a better team than the scores indicate so maybe if they see a bigger crowd at home games they will produce the goods that they are capable of.

On to another subject.

Just in case someone is interested, before the season started I selected my top eight in the NRL for the 2015 final series.

I'm not counting the hairs on my chest yet as there is still a long way to go, but my top eight were Saints, Broncos, Cowboys, Warriors, Storm, Rabbitohs, Sharks and Bulldogs.

As of 30/6/2015, I have seven of eight, the only ones missing are the Sharks and they are in ninth spot.

I still stand by my prediction that the Cowboys will take out the big one; I hope it's a Cowboys/Broncos grand final just to rub it into the Cockroaches.

Origin 3, do cockroaches shed tears?

We'll soon find out.
