SEQ Championships Centenary Plains BMX Club!

Centenary Plains BMX Club is a non-profit organisation located on Waller Road at Browns Plains and have been in operation for 30 years.

We currently have over 250 members in our club and this number is rising consistently with new members coming on board every week.

This year, Centenary Plains BMX Club have been fortunate enough to have been selected to host the South Queensland Championships - an annual event which will see clubs from across South Queensland - from Toowoomba to Cooloola converge on our club for two days on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June.

This event will see over 700 riders and their families in attendance for each day of competition - we are expecting over 1500 people to be on site across these 2 days.

There are more than 50 race categories of riders who will be racing on this weekend with riders ranging from Mini Wheeler's - 2-3 year olds on strider bikes, Under 5 years of age up to 65 years of age.

We have men and women in the 30+ age categories who have been riding since they were children in the sport and new riders who are mums and dads of younger riders who have joined up to support their families.

As a club, it is a great honour to host this event. To have so many riders from across South Queensland coming to our track is incredible and will be a massive event for our club.

Our committee have been working for many months in the planning phases of this event to ensure that everything is ready and organised for the event.

We will have raffles, our canteen will be running, the BBQ will be fired up and cooking for the masses and we will have stalls set up across the site selling equipment and BMX gear to those in attendance.

Riders are competing for a nationally recognised 'plate' based on their final race positions.

There are 4 sets of races on Saturday and another 2 Moto's plus Semi Finals and Finals on Sunday - it will be 2 full days of racing.

People make a weekend of it and will begin arriving on Friday night to set up their marquee's in the allocated positions around our track.

Many people are staying in hotels, caravan parks and motels around Browns Plains, Calamvale and Springwood areas which will be a great boost for businesses, restaurants and cafes.

Many local companies are sponsoring our club and also specific race categories across the weekend which will promote their companies to the many families in attendance.Centenary Plains BMX Club is a fast growing club and we are always looking for new members who are interested in riding BMX and joining a club.

We are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and have our own app also, so we are in constant contact with our members and others in the local area to let them know what is happening each week and how to join up.

We have a welcome pack for new members and are more than happy to send you out a copy if you are interested.
If you are not busy on Saturday 28th or Sunday 29th June, please come along and check out this awesome event!

It is a real eye opener to see 700 riders plus their families in the one location - so much enthusiasm, fun and great times for young and old.
