READERS REACT: To news Turnbull wins Liberal leadership

LAST night, the Liberal Party voted on the leadership of the party and the Prime Ministership after Malcolm Turnbull challenged Tony Abbott.

Here are the comments/reaction of readers on Facebook of Mr Turnbull's win:

Mitch Crane - Interesting. I could get behind Turnbull moreso than I ever could Abbott, though I still don't agree with the LNP's stance on a lot of things. Here's a LNP member that's stated he was in support of same sex marriage. Let's see if he changes his stance now he's in charge.
Marie Hinchliffe - Why bother voting if our chosen prime minister gets booted out by their own party not the Australian people
Graham N Colleen Roberts - We don't choose the PM Marie. The party does.....and did. During an election, we the voters, vote for a local representative of our preferred party.
Karen Kelly - You don't vote for a Prime Minister. You should only ever vote for your local member and what they can do for your electorate.
Marie Hinchliffe - I vote for the prime minister. I wanted abbott in so voted for landry for that reason. There is no way the coalition would have got in with turnbull. The party chooses a leader who they think can run the country but we choose who should run the country
Daz Bambrick - Nope thats not how it works
Justin Davis - You said it yourself, you voted Landry, in the hope that Abbott would stay leader. He is an inarticulate buffoon that the vast majority of the public has come to resent. It's the party's prerogative to rectify that at any time they see fit without getting on the phone to you to seek your approval.
Graham N Colleen Roberts - What are you lot going on about. This is nothing new. Spills have been happening for ages. Have a read up on John Gorton.
Jill Harbeck - Just because they happen does not mean they are right
Graham N Colleen Roberts - That's politics. The party had to make a do or die decision. Just like the Rudd, Gillard spill and others before them.
Donna Wood - Turnbull's only repaying the same loyalty that he got from Abbott when he was Leader of the Opposition. What goes around, comes around.
Betty-lou Fraser - Swapping one evil for another what a joke our Government is!
Kara Michelle - Jesus Christ I'm going back to bed, this government is an absolute joke and no doubt the laughing stock of the world!
Brett McCarthy - So, Abbott gone, this clown and his party next
Jo Hosking - Dear mr Turnbull. Are you going to stop the boats. Call me racist if you wish. But i see it as a problem within a problem. Australians are in a hard way.
People are loosing jobs. And i honestly think we have povity in oz on our own soils. Most of us...See More
Kris Maddison - We're screwed either way
Terry Grant - Sometimes you're better of with the devil you know rather than the devil you don't
Karen Ferry - Maybe they should put revolving doors on the Lodge.
Sherryl McInnerney - Oh well I hope he takes the silver spoon out of his mouth now. But on seconds thought it might be permanently stuck there.
Naomi Liersch - People need to buy a box of Kleenex and get over it. Fair enough Maclolm Turnbull is a dimwit but he cant be any worse than tony Abbott the halfwit. and isn't it funny how it was the same LNP party who mocked Labor for the same thing up until recently. Arent they a bunch of Galahs, actually that's an insult to the wildlife they have more intellect. Vote 1 steady Eddie for Prime Minister lol.
Ben Dickenson - So Iraq has a more stable government than us. Think about that for a moment.
Jeff Phillips - Y can't they do the job instead of fighting each other they can walk away with a golden hand shake and we get screwed AGAIN
Lesley Collins - A very sad thing
Jill Harbeck - A sad day for Australia
