Readers cheesed off at possible Rockhampton Sizzler shutdown

COULD this be the end of the all-you-can-eat salad and dessert bar?

Collins Foods, which owns Sizzler Australia, last week warned that Sizzler restaurants were no longer key to its growth plans and some of its 26 stores would be shut down.

A company spokesperson yesterday said the decision about which stores would close was yet to be made and restaurants would remain open until this time.

We asked our Facebook users what was their favourite thing about Sizzler.

Karen Labuschewski: People can go to maccas or kfc & spend heaps on deep fried food but complain when u can go eat as much salad/pasta & decent food.

Nicole Berden: Oh no we love sizzlers. Most of all the breakfast. But my kids love the salad bar.

Nathan Emerson: Pretty soon there will be nothing in Rockhampton.

Nicole Smith: Well I could never eat $27 of the salad bar.

Joanne Grosskopf: It's too expensive just for salads.

Jody Bayntun: Too expensive. Another big company that kept increasing prices. Now they can't even fill the resturants because families can't afford to eat there.

Eve Martin: I love to take my kids there so they can try lots of new foods and see what they like.

Naomi Liersch: way too expensive. And not enough range.

Roza Godwin: We all need to start going there more often and hopefully they will realize rocky needs sizzler.

Lisa Howie: I love sizzler!

Amanda Jeff Barlow: This is our fav place Jeff and I love taking the kids here.

Brett McCarthy: Oh look, possibly another business in Rocky going.

Tina Pershouse: I love their bread.

Valarie Hawkins: We used to go to Sizzler when it first came to Rocky but now its too expensive.

Ainsley Hutchings: It is rather expensive, however I must admit I do like the pumpkin soup.

Toni Dorsett: Maybe if they didn't keep putting up their prices n made it affordable they wud get more customers.

Paul Howard: Rockhampton store is always well patroned. Some of the stores down south are really empty most of the time. I am sure Rocky branch will be open for some time.
