VOTE FOR TOMORROW'S PHOTO OF THE DAY

TODAY marks a full year of Photo of the Day and, fittingly, today's photo comes from a tight vote between some exceptional images.

The vote came down to a coin toss between this image of a black cockatoo by Wayne Day and a picture of a misty Coomera Creek by Wendy Gilmore. To mark the anniversary, we are running a selection of some stand-out photos of the day on Page 8 of today's paper.

When we started Photo of the Day we had no idea whether we would get enough submissions to maintain it. However, the response was, and continues to be, overwhelming.

The quality of the images being shared through our Facebook page is frequently breathtaking and makes a wonderful showcase of our region's beauty and the talent of the people who live here.

The core of Photo of the Day is our readers. It is your images that provide the material for Photo of the Day and your votes that decide which image is selected.

If you would like to vote for tomorrow's Photo (and it's worth it just to see all the amazing images up for consideration), just take a look at the gallery and poll below.

We have four images to choose from for tomorrow's and Monday's photos of the day.

As we are selecting two images, everyone gets two votes.

Have a look and choose your favourite.

Voting closes at noon.
