READERS DISCUSS: Pay It Forward $200/week from coffee lover

FOR over a month, a Rockhampton man, who refuses recognition, has been spending up to $200 a week "paying it forward" at Gus' Coffee in Northside Plaza.

We asked our Facebook readers: What kind act have you been witness to recently?

Maria Finlay-Frenken - He is lucky he can afford to spend $50 per day to do this, when we have a coffee out at The Chat Room Cafe, we usually pay forward for one coffee ....

Dawn Marie - The article states the free coffee is offered to the next customer. How many people go into a café to order coffee if they can't afford it. Does the shop promote the man's generosity to the homeless around that area? They've promoted their business for free with the story so perhaps they could make the effort to reach those in need of the free drinks.

Valarie Hawkins - Would be nice if he put the money elsewhere, think about it, some people can not even afford to buy a coffee so if they are lining up for a coffee then they are not broke

Bernadette Lewis - Wow, $200 a week. Nice gesture but that much money could pay a homeless person's rent.
