READERS DISCUSS: Euthanised dog numbers in Rocky pound

FOLLOWING the criticism of Rockhampton Regional Council's lack of an in-house adoption process by the RSPCA, and Capricorn Animal Aid's recent service suspension, The Morning Bulletin asked our online readers if council should provide more support to not-for-profit groups running adoption programs:

Courtney Baldwin: I'm looking after a dog that was supposed to go to the pound soon but after reading all this there's no way I'm letting her go! Now just gotta come up with $350 to get her desexed! Anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

Kris Maddison: It's wrong and cruel they've done absolutely nothing wrong, I think we need to do this to the human race to because we are way over populated and we over breed far and beyond
