Your Story: Making Jesus Real Radio

MAKING Jesus Real is a key focus for the students of St Brigid's Primary School in Kyogle.

Each day the teaching staff at St Brigid's are on the lookout for students who are showing the face of Jesus to staff, visitors and their fellow students.

Which students are using wonderful manners?

Are they showing care and concern for classmates?

Are they helping other students, looking out for younger students or showing compassion to classmates who might need a helping hand?

Which students are going above and beyond with their positive attitude and trying to live by the School's Learning Vision - Believe, Achieve, Succeed?

The students who are noticed are featured on the school's weekly radio show - Making Jesus Real Radio-MJRR.

Each week two Year 6 students decide on the format for the show's content, music, shout outs and special mentions for things that might be coming up at school or around Kyogle.

The show is scripted, recorded and produced then played out each Friday at 3pm to the student body, teachers and parents.

Jan Condon, Assistant Principal and Leader of Catechesis, has stated:

"MJR is a program which promotes Christ in our everyday actions.

"It is one thing to read and write about Jesus, but living out the Gospel values is a challenge we actively seek.

"We congratulate the students at St Brigid's for taking on this challenge and making a positive difference in the school community and beyond.

"Christ centred learning is the focus of what we do and MJR Radio is the platform for celebrating the good works we do in a fun, exciting and successful way."
