Court hears drugs were present in driver’s saliva

DON'T take drugs then drive.

That was the blunt message Magistrate Michael O'Driscoll had for Brett Michael Burst after he pleaded guilty to driving with the presence of drugs in his saliva.

Burst faced Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Earlier in the week, Burst was sentenced to 18 months probation after pleading guilty to possessing a knife in a public place, public nuisance and obstructing police while on drugs.

Burst was fined $1000 and suspended for six months.
