Biggest test of year over

Eighty Year 12 students from Kingaroy State High School completed their Queensland Core Skills (QCS) Test on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The four exams, which cover core curriculum elements through literacy, numeracy and general writing skills, all took either two hours or one-and-a-half hours respectively.
Jenny Tessmann, the school’s QCS coordinator, said the students were well-prepared and focused for the exams. “The students have been given good preparation materials and lessons, as well as access to practice tests and very useful feedback. And the cooked breakfast organised by the school, the P&C; and staff to provide for the students was a wonderful starting point for each day, highlighting the camaraderie felt by all people involved.”
Students will receive their QCS mark, and their Overall Position (OP) as well as subject results, in December.
