Bad call set to leave elderly high and dry
SO SUCCESSIVE federal governments privatised Telstra then set up a new government company to unilaterally take over our phone service.
When Telecom/Telstra was government owned we had a communications network better than anywhere in the world, now it can only be described as Third World and likely to get worse when NBN takes over landline phones.
Why should someone with a working landline phone be forced to switch to NBN, necessitating the installation of an electrical connection for a modem.
Whenever there is a power blackout the new phone will not work so you won't even be able to report or check on the power problem and the elderly that rely on a phone for security will be left high and dry.
Do you think NBN drop outs put the elderly at risk?
