Aussies shine at Asia Pacific Eldercare awards

AUSTRALIAN individuals and organisations topped the list in several categories in this year's Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards, handed out in Singapore in May.

Across the 25 award categories, they were pitted against 92 organisations from 17 countries who were vying for recognition of their innovative and outstanding contributions towards improving the quality of living for the older people in Asia Pacific.

The Australian winners were:

  • Facility - Ageing-in-place: finalist, Aveo Newstead.
  • Innovation - Community Care Model: The 10k Project by Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT.
  • Innovation - Product: The CaT (Conversation as Therapy) Pin by Bolton Clarke.
  • Innovation - Productivity: IRT BIDA Platform by IRT Group.
  • Innovation - Social Engagement Programme: One Good Street by Bolton Clarke.
  • Innovation - Technology: Hector VR Driving Simulator for Aged Care by McLean Care & Deakin University.
  • Best Smart Care Technology - Product: IRT Aged Care Locating Device by IRT Group.
  • Best Smart Care Technology - Solution: hayylo by hayylo Australia.
  • Best Solution to Support Ageing-in-place - Wellness: Hector VR Driving Simulator for Aged Care by McLean Care & Deakin University.
  • Architecture Firm: ThomsonAdsett Pty Ltd.
  • Project - Residential Aged Care: Koh I Noor Contemporary Aged Care by KPA Architects.

Mark Moran of the Mark Moran Group, Associate Professor Stephen Muggleton of Bolton Clarke and Associate Professor Ong of ThomsonAdsett were all recognised as Global Ageing Influencers.

Catherine Daley, CEO of integratedliving Australia was recognised as a Global Ageing Trailblazer.
