HOW TO VOTE: Council election divisions broken down

WITH the the local government elections a little more than a week away it's time to nail down which way your vote will go. 

The Daily has been grilling candidates from across the Sunshine Coast and Noosa council areas to help you make an informed choice about who you want running things locally. 

The first step towards making that choice will be finding out which division you live in, and which candidates are standing for council in that area.

NOOSA COUNCIL AREA

Noosa Shire stretches from Peregian to Lake Cootharaba and west to Cooran, Federal and Ridgewood.

It includes Cooroy, Pomona, Lake McDonald and areas reaching back to Noosa Heads on the coast.

At the southern-most end of the Sunshine Coast Division One encompasses Beerburrum, Glass House Mountains and Peachester, from Bald Knob to Meridan Plains and Bells Creek.

Stretching from Pelican Waters to Dicky Beach and Little Mountain, Division Two takes in the heart of Caloundra.

Division Three

Division Three includes parts of Little Mountain, Aroona, and Battery Hill before stretching along the coast to Bokarina and Warana and the Oceanside and University Health precincts.

Stretching from Warana to Alexandra Headland, Division four includes what is essentially a coastal strip.   

With seven candidates to choose from there's plenty to think about ahead of polling day.

Division Five

The hinterland area of Division Five reaches from Tanawha and Woombye, through Mooloolah Valley to Maleny and Witta, to Flaxton in the north.

Division Seven

Division Seven takes in Buderim and Tanawha, stretching north-west through Kuluin, Forest Glen Kunda Park, Didillibah, Kiels Mountain and Rosemount.

Back on the coast, Division Eight stretches from Maroochydore, crossing the Maroochy River, and continues along the coastal strip to Yaroomba.

The northern-most Sunshine Coast Council division takes in areas west of the Sunshine Mwy and east of the Bruce Hwy. 

Reaching from Bli Bli in the south to Eumundi and Doonan in the north, the division includes Coolum Beach and parts of Peregian Beach and Peregian Springs.
